Eothinia elongata (Ehrenberg) 1932
Eothinia elongata, dorsoventral view. A species with two red frontal eyespots and one red cervical eyespot (only barely visible in this image; see image below). This species might be confused with genus Eosphora, but the trophi are different (see image below). (1)

Eothinia elongata, dorsoventral view of another specimen; because of the the lanceolate toes of the foot this species may be confused with some Proales-species like P. theodora. (1)

Eothinia elongata, foot; dorsoventral view. (1)

Eothinia elongata, lateral view. Focal plane on the right frontal eyespot (arrowhead) and the cerebral eyespot (arrow). Basal foot pseudosegment is covered by appendage "tail" (asterisk). (1)

Eothinia elongata, is carnivorous. In the gut of this specimen (semi-macerated by SDS for trophi analysis) three trophi can be identified: two of the Conochilus hippocrepis (arrowheads) and one by a Philodina megalotrocha (arrow) which could also be found alive in this sample (1)
